"Do you sell greetings cards?"

Writer's picture: Caroline BenziesCaroline Benzies

So, I get asked this quite a lot and the answer is no!

I have thought about producing cards but a number of things have stopped me. Firstly, all my prints are limited print runs, so really I would have to come up with a whole different set of images for cards, as I feel that the same images would devalue my prints.

Secondly, to get good quality cards printed is expensive (& and I am a bit particular about quality!) This means that the cards would have to be fairly expensive in order to make it worthwhile and there are also a lot of card sellers out there already, mass producing cards.

I take time and care in making my images and they are made to last, so having something out on display for a few days before being assigned to the bin, is not really what I want to be doing. However, there is a solution ...

Turn A Print Into A Card!

A far better idea, if you like my work and want to send it as a card - is to buy a smaller unmounted print!

Simply, undo the bag (they re-seal again!) and take out the price tag (or just cut the corner off that has the price on). Then you can either write a message on the reverse of the print (all prints have a sturdy back mount - just don't press too hard!)

OR you could just write a message on a separate piece of paper & pop that into the bag behind the print!

Seal the bag back up & you can wrap & send it through the post as a large letter or just give it to the person - SIMPLE!

They get a unique gift and a card combined! It's a limited print, made to last and can be easily framed (in an 8x8" square frame) and kept forever!

PS: It works for Father's Day Cards too! (June 16th)
